Why me?

I am currently pursuing concurrent Bachelor and Master of Information Technology and Management degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology. As of right now, I have an undergraduate GPA of 3.95 and a graduate GPA of 4.0. Throughout my college career, I have picked up several different skills in computer science, information security, and networking.

Courses at IIT have greatly broadened my skills in Information Technology. My experience in Java SE, Java EE, Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and PHP has grown tremendously and allowed me to create several applications. With modularity and efficiency in mind, I’ve created many Java applications using several Java Standard libraries and Frameworks to implement GUIs, database connectivity, and java web applications. I’ve utilized HTML/CSS, JavaScript and PHP to create several web pages and a cloud-based image processing application that was deployed onto a custom built and configured cloud platform.

As for computer and information security, my courses have taught me a great deal about malware detection & analysis, web exploit kits, different attack vectors & mitigation techniques, cryptography, steganography, firewall configuration, and computer forensics.

In terms of hardware and networking, I have extensive experience in building computers and working with servers. Also, I have spent a great deal of time configuring and deploying Cisco switches and routers in my Cisco networking classes at the College of DuPage.

As far as communication is concerned, I have excellent interpersonal skills and work well with others. Also, my track record as a customer service representative is superfluous. I can work wonders with customers/clients by tending to their needs in a professional and responsible manner.

Projects

Cloud-based Image Processing Application

- Developed and Implemented front end using HTML/CSS and back end using cloud infrastructure deployment scripts, PHP, AWS SDK for PHP, and JavaScript
- Utilized EC2 instances, custom configured AMIs, load balancers, auto scaling groups, Amazon S3 storage, Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon Simple Notification Service, Amazon Simple Queue Service, and Amazon Relational Database Services to allow application to process thousands of pictures simultaneously

Indoor Location via Bluetooth Beacon Technology

- Developed the back end to consume data collected by Bluetooth devices
- Utilized Trilateration algorithms to determine location via distance to nearby Bluetooth beacons
- Implemented webRTC using agora and front end with HTML/CSS & JavaScript

Python TV Show Rating Application

- Designed GUI application using tkinter that allowed users to rate TV shows
- Implemented back end using sqlite3, requests, and beautifulsoup4 for web scraping
- Used numpy and pygal to analyze and display rating data

Java ATM Machine Application

- Designed modular GUI application that mimicked an ATM machine and utilized Java’s swing library

Crimeboss Exploit Kit Analysis

- Performed advanced static & dynamic analysis of Crimeboss malware using Virtualbox, Wireshark, Dependency Walker, OllyDbg, and various other monitoring and analysis tools

SecurityOnoin Intrusion Detection Project

- Installed and configured SecurityOnion to function as an IDS and NSM for a virtual network
- Custom-configured SecurityOnion tools such as Sguil, ELSA, and Squert to monitor network security. Wrote custom snort rules to meet the specific needs of the project

Docker Cluster Design Project

- Designed a Docker Cluster from the ground up using several HP & Cisco servers, switches, and routers

Data Center Design Project

- Designed a 15,000 square feet Data Center with a Total & Critical load of 5 MW and 3 MW respectively
- Built for five-nines (99.999%) availability with a PUE of 1.86. Designed Equipment, Power, and Cooling systems. Designed custom floor plan to fit and effectively cool all equipment
